2. What data do we collect?
We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number and address.
- Account details: password (encrypted), profile picture and settings.
- Booking details: service type, date, time, address and any instructions.
- Payment information: payment history. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Communications: messages sent via the app between customers and cleaners.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version and usage data.
- Location data: approximate location to match customers with nearby cleaners (only with your consent).
- Reviews and ratings: reviews you leave about cleaners and ratings cleaners give customers.
3. How do we use your data?
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Providing the service – creating and managing accounts, facilitating bookings and enabling payments. Legal basis: performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Customer service and support – answering questions and resolving issues. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Security and fraud prevention – background checks on cleaners, identity verification and preventing misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.
- Service improvement – analysing usage patterns to improve the app. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Marketing – sending relevant offers and news by email. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Legal obligations – e.g. accounting and tax reporting. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. How long do we retain your data?
- Account details: for as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after closure.
- Bookings and transactions: 7 years in accordance with accounting legislation.
- Communications: 24 months from the last message.
- Technical logs: 90 days.
- Marketing data: until you withdraw your consent.
5. Who do we share your data with?
We share your data with:
- Cleaners – your name, address and booking instructions are shared with the cleaner you hire.
- Customers – the cleaner's name, profile picture and rating are shown to customers.
- Payment provider – to process payments.
- Cloud services – we use Sanity (content management) and other providers under data processing agreements.
- Authorities – if we are required to disclose data by law.
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
7. Your rights
You have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right of access – request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – request that inaccurate data is corrected.
- Right to erasure – request that your data is deleted ("right to be forgotten"), where no legal obligations prevent this.
- Right to restriction – request that we restrict the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability – receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object – object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent – withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
Exercise your rights by contacting us at support@cleenki.com. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

9. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption, access controls and regular security reviews. In the event of a data breach that may pose a risk to you, we will notify you and IMY within 72 hours.

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or a clear notice in the app. The latest version is always available on this page.
